Heller's Angels Summer Games

Heller's Angels, the Attleboro Public Schools Special Olympic Team, participated in the State Games at Harvard University this weekend.  Stephen Almeida was even interviewed for the channel 4 news on Saturday!  We stayed at Claflin Hall, West Campus at BU.  We competed in the track and field events. Other events enjoyed were Olympic town (games, face-painting, bands, karaoke), a barbeque and a dance with the Wild Wild West theme. Wow! What a great time angels.  Once again you all proved what spirit, attitude and effort accomplish.  Looking forward to the next great season!  Caron Heller

Special Olympics Massachusetts Winter Games

A team of athletes from Attleboro Public Schools participated in
the  Special Olympics Massachusetts Winter Games in Worcester this weekend. The team competed in 10-pin bowling.  "Heller's Angels" arrived on Friday for opening ceremonies held at the Worcester Centrum.  After the speakers, invocation, oath ceremonies and lighting of the torch, the athletes were entertained by the dance group "Phunk Phenomenon" and singers "The Next Movement".  They competed at the Auburn AMF lanes in Auburn all day Saturday. Saturday evening the athletes enjoyed a dinner and dance at the Worcester Outlet Mall.  Sunday they finished their competition and received awards.

  The athletes won't rest long.  They will start training for the track and
  field events soon.  Qualifying round will be held during the day games at  Attleboro High School in May.  The rotary club and YMCA will be helping the athletes train Saturday mornings from 3/27-5/8 to help prepare for  competition.  Please contact Duane German at the YMCA to register  508-222-7422.  Any athlete participating in the day games in Attleboro that  wants to compete at the state level in Boston Father's Day weekend can join Heller's Angels.  They can contact Caron Heller at Brennan Middle School 508 222-6260 or email at caronheller@trip.net

Special Olympic event they are doing is  Bowling.
